Today, I’m going to be starting The Insatiable Booksluts’ Award-Winning Reading Challenge!
Essentially, over the next however-many weeks, I’ll be reading eight genre novels that have won the following awards: the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award for Novels, the World Fantasy Award, the Bram Stoker Best Novel Award, the Aurealis award for best horror novel, the Crime Writers’ Association’s Gold Dagger, the Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award, and the RITA award.
My plan is to choose books as I go, but I’ll be starting with Robert J. Sawyer’s Hugo Award-winning book Calculating God. I’ll be posting selected quotes throughout my readings—tagged accordingly!—but I’ve also created an “Award-Winning Reading Challenge” landing page here, where I’ll list the books I’ve completed towards the challenge, along with links to relevant posts. Plus, as always, you can also follow me on Goodreads!
If you’ve got any book suggestions—particularly for the awards listed above—you can contact me on Twitter (@kf) or just leave a message in my ask box.
And, if you decide to complete one of the Booksluts’ other reading challenges—they have several that don’t require any genre readings whatsoever!—do let me know!
